Everyone these days is concerned about food miles and where their food comes from, but at Castle House that doesn't worry us at all. That's because produce that appears on our restaurant menus originates, whenever possible, from the excellent local produce available in Herefordshire.

We feel very much part of the county's tradition for good food. Our family farm at Ballingham Hall, is just eight miles from the hotel. Built in 1602, it has been in our family for 130 years. I farmed here with my father and grandfather, and now run the business with my son George, who is the hotel's General Manager. We are passionate about what we do, and about British farming, so you can be sure that what arrives on your plate is the very best from Herefordshire and the Marches. It may even come from our farm, where we produce pedigree Herefords and rare-breed sheep, or our extensive kitchen garden where we grow fruit, herbs and vegetables for the hotel's menus.

Ballingham Hall and its gardens is a spectacular venue that can be yours for an 'Exclusive Use' private party, corporate event and wedding; it's the perfect location for a unique event in the heart of the county. We even have our own church!
