Find out all about Ballingham Hall Farm and our story here...
Everyone these days is concerned about food miles and where their food comes from but at Castle House, that doesn't worry us at all. That's because we focus on provenance and seasonality.
The vegetables, fruit, herbs and salad leaves for our restaurant's menus has been grown, whenever possible, in the extensive kitchen garden on our nearby Ballingham Hall farm, where we also rear pedigree Herefords. We also have long and established relationships with trusted local producers in Herefordshire and surrounding counties.
We feel very much part of the county's tradition for good food. Our family farm at Ballingham Hall, is just 8 miles from the hotel. Built in 1602, it has been in our family for 140 years. I farmed here with my father and grandfather, and now run the business with my son George, who is the hotel's General Manager. We are passionate about what we do, and about British farming, so you can be sure that what arrives on your plate is the very best from Herefordshire and the Marches.
Ballingham Hall and its gardens is a spectacular venue that can be yours for an 'Exclusive Use' private party, corporate event and wedding; it's the perfect location for a unique event in the heart of the county. We even have our own church!
