Castle House is well-known for its traditional Afternoon Tea. Popular with locals and guests, we offer a choice of:

Castle House High Tea with homemade fruit or plain scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, cakes, sweet treats, finger sandwiches and a selection of savouries 

Afternoon Tea with fruit and plain scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam, both with Trumpers Fairtrade Loose Leaf Tea or James Gourmet Coffee.

Our selection of finger sandwiches includes smoked Scottish Salmon and lemon, roast Hereford Beef with rocket and horseradish, free range egg and watercress and mature cheddar and tomato and more.

Fairtrade Tea and Coffee (of course) Claire Trumper, the founder of Trumpers Teas, has created a delicious range of loose leaf teas and infusions, most of which we have on our menu including Rooibos, a caffeine-free herbal tea. James Gourmet Coffee is a small, family company, based in Ross-on-Wye, which produces high-quality, speciality coffees.

We are open most days for coffees, cakes and other beverages and for Castle House Afternoon Tea on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12pm until 4pm and we recommend booking. We can't promise any Peruvian Bears and definitely discourage drinking from teapots!
