Unashamed
luxury
Castle House. A gracious town house in the heart
of historic Hereford.
Castle House is the perfect place to feel pampered
and relaxed with its award
winning food and wine, its quiet gardens and its
views over the old castle
moat. |
 |
Elegant
rooms
Each of the ten suites, four single rooms and one
deluxe double
has its own, distinctive theme. Elegantly
and charmingly designed, the suites are furnished
with fine antiques and equipped with television,
video and hi-fi. One suite is specially adapted
for guests with mobility difficulties. |
| Each
suite represents a chapter in the ancient history
of the city of Hereford. The Nell Gwynne suite celebrates
the Hereford actress who caught the eye of King
Charles II while the Cavalier Suite recalls Herefords
support for the Royalist cause in the Civil War. |
 |
| When
this Grade II listed hotel reopened after a major
renovation, Castle
House collected a top award for sensitive restoration.
The awards continue to come in. |

Dine
in style
Dine in the award-winning Castle House Restaurant
and have cocktails or a quick lunch in Bertie’s Bar.
The restaurant is renowned for its fine food and
excellent wines, served in a relaxed atmosphere by
our skilled team dedicated to meeting your needs.
Menus are designed by our Chef Claire Nicholls who
has been with Castle House for over six years. |
Inspired
Castle House is close to the unspoiled Herefordshire countryside
with its renowned golf courses and the rolling Welsh Marches
criss-crossed by national walking routes such as Offa's
Dyke and the Wye Valley walk. This is the countryside
that inspired composer Edward Elgar, poets John Masefield,
Thomas Traherne and Robert Frost, and the diarist Francis
Kilvert. Share their inspiration.
